Mequinenza is a fisherman`s paradise situated where the three rivers Segre,Cinco and Ebro all meet between Zaragoza and Barcelona in the North of Spain .The town is not only famous for record breaking captures of giant Wels Catfish. It also holds Carp that have be caught up to 65lb as well as other species such as Zander and Bass. 20lb Carp are plentiful so are low 30´s. 40´s 50´s and 60´s are there to be caught! 100lb+ Catfish are regularly caught and playing one of these monsters is an experience NOT to be missed! (A total adrenalin rush)!

The town has numerous tackle shops, there are 2 camp sites and of course a selection of bars,hostels and restaurants. It is typically spanish but not a picture postcard! However,once you leave the town and drive along the river the scenery is breath taking! There are no end of places to fish from the bank. No matter how many fishermen are out on the banks it NEVER seems crowded.
